Never Can Go Wrong with Gold

Bold Gold of Maybelline Color Tattoo Collection all over the lid. Matte  Brown for the crease. Matte highlight.

I'm about to start school again! That only means early morning classes and less time to get dolled up! This is my default look for the day or night time. (Only difference is at night I usually do a darker smokey look with an addition of black). The Maybelline Color Tattoo by Eye Studio in Bold Gold or even Bad to the Bronze is a quick way to turn up your everyday makeup look! What's so great about these colors is that they're perfect for any season! As we are transitioning into fall, the matte brown gives the soft look, while the gold is self explanatory BOLD GOLD! This quick look allows me to have a full eye look in a matter of seconds! These cream eyeshadows by Maybelline are probably one of my TOP products in my makeup collection.

I absolutely love these Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows! I use them practically everyday whether it's alone or as a base. Some say they compare to the Paint Pots by Mac, but unfortunately I've never tried any except Ocre (since I use that as a eye shadow primer). But I find the Maybelline collection to be absolutely amazing! They have also released a new Fall 2012 LIMITED Edition collection. Which I cannot wait to try, I've only gotten my hands on two of the colors.

Two of the Eight new colors of the Fall 2012 Limited Edition Collection!

Luminous Makeup Look!

(my luminous makeup look only using products I already have!)

I know right now the bright luminous look is really popular and I am also a huge fan of a luminous look. Unfortunately because I have oily skin, most illuminating makeup products will only make my skin look more oily. I've heard amazing things about Maybelline's Lumi collection! Wish I could give it a try, but here I came up with this look using regular products I already have.

The picture above is the new luminous look while the picture below shows my usual makeup routine.

(regular makeup look)
As you can tell, I have gotten a bit darker due to the sunny rays down here in Southern California, but none the less, you can easily tell the luminous effect with my makeup. The trick is to use a yellow undertone concealer to brighten up the highlighting features on your face. After I had complete my foundation routine before using a translucent powder, I went and applied the concealer on the middle of my forehead above my eyebrows, down the bridge of my nose, brow bone (where you would usually put a highlight eyeshadow), on my under eyes (in an upside down triangle), a bit on my cupid's bow and chin. Using a foundation brush, I blended the yellow undertone concealer to those areas and applied my translucent powder all over my face. After I lightly applied a hint of highlight, but not too much since my has glitter flex in it. Then finishing my face with my bronzer (to warm up and contour) and a small amount of blush. I'd be more than happy to make a video of how I achieved this look, please let me know! (my youtube channel is heytiffy92) The products used for my luminous makeup look will be listed below.

Products used for this look:
Loreal Paris Studio Secrets Primer
Urban Decay's Urban Defense in Body Guard
Neutrogena's Skin Clearing Foundation in 30 Buff
Covergirl's Concealer Stick 710 Light
Kat Von D's Tattoo Concealer in Sand (THIS IS THE CONCEALER I USED FOR THE LUMINOUS EFFECT!) -- A very recommended product!!!!
NARS Albatross
Bare Minerals Mineral Veil
MAC's Blunt Powder Blush - Bronzer
ELF's Candid Coral Blush
Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain 015 Cherish Devotion
MAC's Shale - Satin Eyeshadow - Crease

Recent Discoveries

I have made a few new beauty purchases that I wanted to share with you guys!

I'll start with the bad news first and end with good news!

I am on the hunt for new mascara. I've been slowly transitioning myself into wearing more mascara after wearing falsies for over two years straight. So I went ahead and purchased They're Real mascara by Benefit Cosmetics. I am a huge Benefits Cosmetics fan! They have released new blush box sets that I'm dying to get my hands on (only at Sephora). But I was highly disappointed about They're Real mascara. Unfortunately, I have very thin and short lashes. The mascara was very voluminousness, but did not give any length effect, which I need the most. I would recommend this product to anyone who already has long lashes! Guess Benefit mascaras are just not for me.

(this is a travel size mascara, found at Sephora only $10!)

On a brighter note, I found ANOTHER lip product I am obsessed with! You've probably heard of them ... The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. I have two, but have only opened one. So far... so amazing! The jumbo pencil has a retractable bottom, so there is no sharpening needed! It is very moisturizing, so it is NOT a lie when they call it a balm. I did find that after the second coat (once the first coat fades, of course), it stains just perfectly! And they also were NOT kidding when they said kissable. I kissed my nieces nonstop forgetting I had lip product on and there was a very minimal stain left on their cheeks! So all you girls who have boyfriends that are not a fan of lipstick or lip gloss, this product is just for you! I definitely recommend this product to everyone!

Revlon Lip Butter vs. Loreal Paris Color Riche Balm

This is an epic battle between two products released around the same time. Though it's a tricky to decide which is best for you, I thought I'd give you some insight on my experience with both products. I do love both products and they both serve good purposes. The Revlon Lip Butter is great for the girl who is experiencing with new lip colors and lipstick. The lip butter is moisturizing with beautiful pigmentation. While the Color Riche Balm is more a tinted lip balm. I find purposes for both! I do also mix the two for certain lip looks, (as I've shared in previous post). Lots of bloggers and vloggers have talked about this battle between the two products. In my perspective, there's no winner or even a war to be fought. Both are very different! The best part is that both are moisturizing. On the days you're looking for a light tint/sheen, go for the Color Riche Balm. The days you're feeling bold, but don't want to carry so much makeup, grab the lip butter!
