How are you rockin' skulls these day?

Lately skulls have been an out-RAGING trend! There are tons of skull blouses, scarves, tights, etc! I have fallen IN LOVE with this trend. You can easily make a girly or casual look more edgy with skulls. Here's a quick makeup and outfit of the day I threw together for school that incorporates this skull trend. This is simple enough that ANY girl can rock this look!

With natural makeup, I just added the bright red lip to put some color into the look! Lipstick featured is from Wet 'n Wild, Stoplight Red 911D - These lipsticks are a steal for only $1.97 at my local Wal-Mart!

Outfit:
V-Neck: Forever 21 (Basic V-Neck)
Denim Shorts - Forever 21
Scarf - Wetseal
Rings - Forever 21

again, another outfit with staple pieces any girl should have in her closet! change up the colors or the scarf and make it your own. The full look its an effortless look, yet so cute! My waves were done with a 1" Remington curling wand the night before and re-vamped the next morning! Hope this look inspires you to find more casual, yet put together makeup looks and outfits!

Going Crazy for Halloween

I know this is a late look, but I still wanted to share with you guys! Since Halloween was on a school night for me, I stayed in and passed out candy! Even though I stayed in, I still felt the spirit of Halloween so I came up with a smokey look for the occasion. This look can be done with any colors! Hope you guys enjoy!

The reason I chose green and purple was because of the shirt I wore! Bought this skeleton shirt at Walmart (found in the boys sections for $4.88!)

Products used:
Base - Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Audacious Asphalt
ELF Palette - Green and purple MATTE colors. Used skin tone color to blend.
Covergirl Concealer Stick for highlight
ELF Gel Liner
Ebay Lashes

Nothing gets better than GOLD

I came out with a going out look that's slightly different from the usual gold smokey eye, I always tend to go with. It has a 3-d type look! Hope you guys enjoy!

I added a smokey-ness to the inside corner and finished it on the outside corner also. I also deepened the crease by adding the black lightly to it. Focused the gold on the center of my eye lid! Hope you enjoy. Products used listed below!

Mac's Painterly Pot - Soft Ocre
Maybelline's Color Tattoo - Bold Gold
Naked 2 Palette - Half Baked (Center Lid), Blackout & Busted (Crease, Outer Corner, Inner Corner), Foxy (Highlight)
ELF - Gel Liner
Ebay lashes

Settle yet BOLD smokey eye look

Please ignore my shininess! This picture was taken at the end of the night. Just thought I'd share this look since I loved it so much! Definitely a new go-to look for me!
I wanted to do a quick post on this eye look from the other night! I've really been into the smokey eye lately, but in different colors! All that was used for this look was Maybelline's Color Tattoo Rich Mahogany (from the Fall '12 collection) and a skin tone eyeshadow was used to smoke out the look. (I did add a smidge of black to my outter corner crease to give depth to my eyes.) For my highlight, I just used a light concealer ... which also perfected the brows! This look is great for a casual night out or date night with the girls! Feeling extra bold? I'd definitely wear this look during the day! I love bold makeup, but this is a toned down version for me! Hope you guys enjoy!

NEW PRODUCT ALERT: MAYBELLINE'S THE COLOSSAL VOLUM' EXPRESS, CAT EYES

I'm soooo happy to share this new product with you guys! We all know I'm a falsie fanatic, but this mascara amazes me! I've been seeing commercials like crazy for the new Colossal Volum' Express, which claims to give a more cat eye effect. Not sure if it's true with the cat eye effect, only because I don't have long or full lashes, I have the exact opposite. But this product worked WONDERS for my dinky Asian eyelashes. Of course, I had to get it in waterproof to hold my curl, but I don't regret this random buy! ONLY $5 AT WAL-MART!

I know my eyelashes are still pretty dinky, but this is like amazing for how my eyelashes really look. They're thin  and short. IT SUCKS! But this mascara did the MOST!

Halloween Attempt #1: Candy Skull/Day of the Dead Look

I wanted to venture out into something totally different for Halloween this year! I've really been into candy skulls and just skulls in general lately. I came up with this really simple look of a candy skull. This was only my first attempt. If I do end up doing this look, I will add more detail to it. Let me know what you guys think!

Hint: Instead of using white face paint, I used a pale foundation. The rest of the products I used were things I already had in my collection. And I used yellow/gold around my eye instead of having my eye completely blacked out.
Additions: I plan to ombre the petals around my eye from the black to dark blue to the turquoise. And maybe add sequence inside the petals.

FALL COLLECTIONS - OH, MAYBELLINE

I just wanted to let you guys know I finally got my hands on three more of the Maybelline Color Tattoo Limited Edition colors. On the left side! The dark brown is RICH MAHOGANY, the top color is BARELY BEIGE, and the golden color is GOLD SHIMMER.

The Rich Mahogany is a beautiful dark brown for the crease or outer corner. To get the full pigmentation, you will need to put a thick layer. My favorite out of the bunch is Barely Beige, it's great as a highlight or all over the lid. It does come out more white and shimmery on my lid, but when I do wipe my fingers, it does show up beige on the tissue. The Gold Shimmer is much more golden than Bold Gold. Definitely worth the money! These Color Tattoo's by Maybelline are one of my top drugstore products, if not the top product.

CVS had the three colors, while Target had the other two and the brighter colors of the collection.

Color the World

I came up with a very settle eye look with some new products I grabbed. I used the new Maybelline Color Tattoo in Fuchsia Fever as a base with a magenta color from the ELF 100 Color Palette with a purple on the outer corner. I tried to keep it settle since I'm just trying out colors. I wish the base had a better consistency because it took a few layers of the product to get an even color, but never the less, I still love the Maybelline Color Tattoo by Eye Studio. Hope you guys enjoy!

Never Can Go Wrong with Gold

Bold Gold of Maybelline Color Tattoo Collection all over the lid. Matte  Brown for the crease. Matte highlight.

I'm about to start school again! That only means early morning classes and less time to get dolled up! This is my default look for the day or night time. (Only difference is at night I usually do a darker smokey look with an addition of black). The Maybelline Color Tattoo by Eye Studio in Bold Gold or even Bad to the Bronze is a quick way to turn up your everyday makeup look! What's so great about these colors is that they're perfect for any season! As we are transitioning into fall, the matte brown gives the soft look, while the gold is self explanatory BOLD GOLD! This quick look allows me to have a full eye look in a matter of seconds! These cream eyeshadows by Maybelline are probably one of my TOP products in my makeup collection.

I absolutely love these Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows! I use them practically everyday whether it's alone or as a base. Some say they compare to the Paint Pots by Mac, but unfortunately I've never tried any except Ocre (since I use that as a eye shadow primer). But I find the Maybelline collection to be absolutely amazing! They have also released a new Fall 2012 LIMITED Edition collection. Which I cannot wait to try, I've only gotten my hands on two of the colors.

Recent Discoveries

I have made a few new beauty purchases that I wanted to share with you guys!

I'll start with the bad news first and end with good news!

I am on the hunt for new mascara. I've been slowly transitioning myself into wearing more mascara after wearing falsies for over two years straight. So I went ahead and purchased They're Real mascara by Benefit Cosmetics. I am a huge Benefits Cosmetics fan! They have released new blush box sets that I'm dying to get my hands on (only at Sephora). But I was highly disappointed about They're Real mascara. Unfortunately, I have very thin and short lashes. The mascara was very voluminousness, but did not give any length effect, which I need the most. I would recommend this product to anyone who already has long lashes! Guess Benefit mascaras are just not for me.

(this is a travel size mascara, found at Sephora only $10!)

On a brighter note, I found ANOTHER lip product I am obsessed with! You've probably heard of them ... The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. I have two, but have only opened one. So far... so amazing! The jumbo pencil has a retractable bottom, so there is no sharpening needed! It is very moisturizing, so it is NOT a lie when they call it a balm. I did find that after the second coat (once the first coat fades, of course), it stains just perfectly! And they also were NOT kidding when they said kissable. I kissed my nieces nonstop forgetting I had lip product on and there was a very minimal stain left on their cheeks! So all you girls who have boyfriends that are not a fan of lipstick or lip gloss, this product is just for you! I definitely recommend this product to everyone!

Revlon Lip Butter vs. Loreal Paris Color Riche Balm

This is an epic battle between two products released around the same time. Though it's a tricky to decide which is best for you, I thought I'd give you some insight on my experience with both products. I do love both products and they both serve good purposes. The Revlon Lip Butter is great for the girl who is experiencing with new lip colors and lipstick. The lip butter is moisturizing with beautiful pigmentation. While the Color Riche Balm is more a tinted lip balm. I find purposes for both! I do also mix the two for certain lip looks, (as I've shared in previous post). Lots of bloggers and vloggers have talked about this battle between the two products. In my perspective, there's no winner or even a war to be fought. Both are very different! The best part is that both are moisturizing. On the days you're looking for a light tint/sheen, go for the Color Riche Balm. The days you're feeling bold, but don't want to carry so much makeup, grab the lip butter!

Ombre Trend

Ombre is a huge trend right now! So I wanted to give it a try with a makeup look. What better to try than ombre lipstick?! Used a red lip liner and a hot pink lipstick, followed by two lighter pink lipsticks while layering towards the center. To finish the look, I dabbed shimmer white eyeshadow in the center of my lips! What do you think? Wearable? I love it! Great way to dress up your makeup look this summer!

Summer Days Makeup

It's summer and we all know cake-faces don't last during the hot days. Having to touch up constantly isn't any girl's ideal day either. I've turned to using tinted moisturizers to make my makeup weight a bit lighter than usual. The two tinted moisturizers I've been using is Aveda's Tinted Moisture. It is SPF 15 and medium coverage. Though the coverage is not buildable, any concealer can fix that problem. This product was purchased from the Aveda salon at my local mall. On the days I need more coverage, I turn to my Urban Decay Tinted Moisturizer. This one is SPF 20 and paraben free. This has a buildable coverage, closer to a full coverage foundation. I did purchase this product from HauteLook (a flash sale website CLICK HERE to join.)
